Stacey Surnear, PT

Stacey has been a licensed physical therapist for almost 20 years. She has spent the majority of her career working in the outpatient, Sports Rehab world.  She has worked in conjunction with some of the area’s top orthopedic surgeons and has been instrumental in developing post-surgical protocols.

She graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Baldwin Wallace College where she was 4-year starter on the softball team. She then graduated from Cleveland State University in 2005 with her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy while being a grad assistant coach of the BW softball team as well as working in the marketing department for the Cleveland Indians.

She worked in the Cleveland Clinic Sports Health department to start her career and rehabbed high school, collegiate and professional athletes from various sports injuries.  She specialized in working with throwing mechanics and working with the running analysis and injury prevention program. She then worked in the Washington D.C. market in private practice, working under the head PT of the Washington Capitals hockey team. After her move back to Ohio, Stacey spent 10 years working within the Crystal Clinic Orthopedic Center, again working with top surgeons to develop protocols for new surgeries to improve overall outcomes.

Stacey left hospital-based health care in 2023 to pursue her passion of focusing on injury prevention and reducing pain and injuries before getting to the surgical point.  Stacey has been certified in dry needling for 7 years and ran her own niche dry needling physical therapy services in the North Canton area.

Stacey is so excited to join Pinnacle Chiropractic to treat patients with a holistic and total body approach.  She is thrilled to be working with Dr. Banks and Dr. Taylor along with all the modalities and amenities available at Pinnacle to give her patients the best possible outcomes!

Stacey is currently a mother of 4 and highly involved in all their sports and extracurriculars. She is currently the head coach of her daughter’s 14u travel softball team.  Stacey has completed various running races from 5k to marathons, as well as sprint to half ironman triathlons. She continues to stay active and incorporates fitness and strength training into her daily life.
